Deposits and Payments

All orders require a 50% deposit to secure your chosen date. Deposits are based on the cake price, plus delivery & equipment hire charges. Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable should you cancel your order. The balance for celebration and special occasion cake is due upon collection or delivery of the cake.   Due to the increased preparation time involved with wedding cakes, the balance is due 4 weeks before delivery.

All orders placed inside of the above timescales require payment in full at time of booking, unless an alternative payment method has been agreed.

Late payments may result in your order not being completed. Wedding cakes will not be delivered until full payment is made.

Hired Items

Hire items are subject to availability and should be requested when placing your order. A separate charge is made for hire items such as cake stands, for which a deposit is required at time of booking, and the remaining hire charge is payable alongside your cake order balance.

Hire charges and deposits vary, based upon the value of the hire item.

A separate deposit should be paid for hire items upon placing your order. Deposits for hire items are returnable providing the item is returned to us in good, clean condition. If the hire item is damaged or dirty we reserve the right to retain your deposit as payment for the repair or replacement of the item(s).

Hire items not returned by the agreed date (48 hours) will result in additional hire charges of £3 per day.

Payment Methods

We are currently able to accept payments via PayPal, cash, or bank transfer only. PayPal payments will incur a 4% surcharge.

Alternative payment methods may be arranged but no orders can be accepted, processed or delivered until cleared funds are received.

Returns and Cancellations

Should you wish to cancel your order for any reason, the following conditions will apply:

Under the ‘UK distance selling regulations’ customers have the right to return or cancel a purchase up to 7 days after delivery. This however, does not apply to food items or any items made ‘bespoke’ for you. This means that the majority of products made by Wiggle Cakes are exempt from the ‘UK distance selling regulations’ standard guidelines in regards to cancellations and returns. For this reason, we are unable to accept the return of any edible or bespoke items unless the item is damaged or incorrectly supplied by us.

Under the ‘UK distance selling regulations’ we are not obliged to refund your payment once we have started work on your cake order. This can include sourcing items for your order such as ribbons, boards or specific ingredients. For this purpose, it will be considered that we have started work on your cake 2 weeks prior to the order date for celebration & occasion cakes, and 4 weeks prior to the order date for wedding cakes.

In the unusual event that a refund is requested because of a problem with the cake, please call us on the day of your event.  The cake will need to be returned in full to Wiggle Cakes in full for inspection. Without proof that the cake hasn’t been made to a sufficient standard, we will be unable to refund any portion of your payment.  This is necessary to hinder the very rare case of ‘if we complain, we get a free cake’ which unfortunately does occasionally happen to cake makers. No refund will be given for difference in artistic opinion regarding colour and design.

In the event that we may need to cancel or cannot fulfil your order, for any reason beyond our control, we will make a full refund including your deposit. Wiggle Cakes will not be held liable for anything more than the value of your Cake order.

If you need to cancel your wedding cake order, the following will apply:

Cancellation after deposit but before the balance due date - all amounts over 50% deposit refunded.
Cancellation after full payment is made and work has started - no refund of your cake order will be made, this includes delivery charges, hire charges and hire deposit.

Collection & Delivery

You are welcome to collect your cake order from our premises and collection of your cake is free of any extra charge. All visits to our premises are by appointment only and are subject to availability. It is recommended to arrange your collection slot at the time of placing your order.

When collecting your cake, we advise it is transported in a flat area of the car, such as the boot, free from any objects that could fall onto and damage the cake.  The cake needs to be kept cool, so it is important not to keep it in direct sunlight.  Using the air conditioning in the car is advised.  Please dive carefully and slowly when transporting your cake.

Wiggle Cakes are able to deliver your cake order to a chosen address, however this service is subject to availability and should be requested at the time of placing your order. Delivery charges vary depending on your location and distance from our premises.  It is important that you provide a correct postcode and any information regarding parking.

Wiggle Cakes holds no responsibility for the care of your cake order once it has left our possession, whether it is delivered to you or if it is collected by yourself or your representative.

Changes to your collection or delivery date and time are subject to availability and any other bookings will take priority.

If you are not going to be available when we deliver your cake order at the time agreed, you may appoint someone else to take delivery of the cake order for you, at the same address and the same agreed time. All terms and conditions regarding your order will still apply.

If no one is present to take delivery of your cake order at the address and time agreed, Wiggle Cakes will return the order to our premises. We will retain your delivery charge and you will be expected to make alternative arrangements for the cake to be collected from our premises.

In addition to the above terms and conditions the following terms and conditions will apply to wedding cake orders or any order requiring delivery to a specified venue.

If your cake is required to be set up at your venue a set-up fee will be applied to your delivery charge. Charges may vary depending on the size of the cake and time needed to set it up. It is your responsibility to ensure that a safe place is available to set up your cake at your chosen venue. Wiggle Cakes holds no responsibility for damaged caused due to unsuitable conditions at the venue.

It is also your responsibility to ensure the table is secure, and is decorated as you wish in advance of delivery. Wiggle Cakes will deliver and set up your cake and will not be responsible if your cake order is damaged if it is moved, once it has left our possession.  Please ensure the room temperature for the cake is 22 degrees Celsius or below.  Never store a cake in the fridge unless otherwise advised by Wiggle Cakes.

Wiggle Cakes will not be responsible for any damage to your cake order caused by a third party.  For example, if you are having fresh flowers not supplied by us, your florist is responsible for placing these decorations on the cake, and for ensuring the flowers are placed with a barrier between them and the cake. The florist must also ensure the flowers are safe to be used on a cake and are not poisonous.

Alterations & Variations to design

From time to time certain items may not be available. For example, a specific ribbon colour. We Reserve the right to use an alternative product of greater or equal value, without consultation, to complete your order on time.

Colours can vary from settings on individual computer screens and also on different print quality. If images have been supplied for colour or design purposes these should be used as a guideline only. Wiggle Cakes cannot guarantee to match colours in any circumstance and reserve the right to interpret colours in line with the design of your cake. Wiggle Cakes remain the right to make creative changes to the design of your cake for the sake of structural integrity, stability or other certain emergencies. 

The date of your final payment is the final date for any changes to the size, style or flavours of the cake – these changes may be subject to additional charges. Any changes requested after this date cannot be guaranteed and may be subject to additional charges.  Once the final balance is paid, it is non refundable.

Allergens & ‘Free From’ products

Wiggle Cakes are happy to supply cakes for our customers with special dietary needs. We make every effort to ensure ingredients for such products are stored separately, and since every cake is made to order, ‘free from’ ingredients will not be used at the same time as other ingredients. However, products containing gluten, dairy or nuts and other allergy sensitive ingredients are used within our kitchen therefore we can never completely guarantee that products will remain 100% free from ingredients that may affect particularly sensitive diets.

It is the customers’ responsibility to inform Wiggle Cakes of any dietary requirements.  Wiggle Cakes holds no responsibility for any injury or illness resulting from allergies and sensitivities to ingredients.

If you require a list of ingredients please ask when placing your order.  It is the customer's responsibility to pass the allergens info onto any third parties concerned.


All cakes supplied by Wiggle Cakes, will have a shelf life of three days, unless otherwise stated on collection/delivery.

Candles are not provided for cakes.

We reserve the right to photograph your cake and use any photographs for display or promotion without notice or compensation to you.

Performance of this agreement is contingent upon the ability of Wiggle Cakes to complete the agreement and is subject to labour disputes or strikes, accidents, Acts of God, and other causes beyond our control.
